Rick's vision and funding resulted in the creation of the AMS Smoking Management System. The System has received international acclaim and more than 100,000 smokers have "chosen" to use it to earn former smoker status.
For 2020 and beyond, his vision includes a 4.0 digital/internet version of The AMS System. It will provide the behaviour change methodologies tens of millions of smokers worldwide desperately need to end their habit/addiction.
Prior to AMS, Rick co-founded and was CEO of Metson Research Ltd., Hybrid Electronics, and Canadian Technical Publications, publisher of "The Engineering Times", the largest circulation, privately owned newpaper in Canada.
Ken has held C-suite executive positions at Bell Advanced Communications and has managed global engineering projects for Newbridge/Alcatel and Nortel.His experience includes more than twenty years in the incubation, launching and managing start-ups in Telecommunications, Big Data and Medical markets.
Ken is passionate about his contribution toward the achievement of AMS ''goal to make a ‘difference'' in the lives of tens of millions of smokers who need and want help to achieve former smoker status.
Managing Director, Investment Lifecycle
Andrew is a senior technology strategist and business partner with over 20 years leadership and financial industry experience, specializing in strategy, client relationship management, talent development and delivery. Andrew has spent the majority of his career with the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, leading technology delivery for the Investment division, specializing in portfolio management & analytics, trade order & execution management, investment accounting & post-trade operations, as well as mobility and collaboration solutions.
Bruce has had a diverse career in the financial services industry. He was most recently Executive Vice President of BMO Nesbitt Burns Financial Services where he was responsible for creating the Pension division, Group Insurance division, assumed responsibility for the Canadian and U.S. Insurance Brokerage divisions and The Trust Company of Bank of Montreal Corporate Trust division. His responsibilities included developing business plans for all divisions, setting and managing budgets, developing strategy, monitoring the execution of that strategy and managing all staff issues.
Gord has worked in the Insurance industry for over 29 years – 22 of those with the company he founded. His extensive consulting expertise has a special emphasis on comprehensive and integrated management solutions designed to maximize the productivity of an employer’s workforce while maintaining an emphasis on maximizing the employee’s well being. With a well-deserved reputation for integrity, Gord applies proactive solutions in the areas of healthcare claims management, absence and disability management, as well as workplace wellness/lifestyle programs.
Warren Shepell Ph.D.
Dr. Shepell is a pioneer in Employee Assistance Programs. He was Founder and CEO of Warren Shepell Consultants Corp. Warren’s innovative initiatives have been beneficial to thousands of employees. He introduced and made mental health treatments mainstream and an integral component of EAP’s. His company provided EAP services to more than 2,000 companies and organizations and was the recipient of two 50 Best Company and a Benefits Canada Lifetime Best Company award.
Ted has spent the past 20 years recruiting for high tech vendors primarily into the Canadian market. This followed a career of Sales, Sales Management, and Sales Training within the high tech vendor world. Previous employers include IBM, Xerox, Keyword and ICL with roles including Sales Trainer at Xerox and VP Sales Canada with Keyword. These roles provided Ted with a unique perspective that has elevated his ability to empathize with clients and understand their business requirements when choosing and developing quality candidates.
Mark is President of Mercantile Mergers and Acquisitions, a leading mid market M&A firm. Since 1987, Mercantile has focused exclusively in the divestiture of mid market Canadian companies; selling to strategic or private equity buyers or investors.
The purpose of our program is to provide the AMS System Training to manage behavioural change for smokers who are psychologically ready to re-start* and complete the quitting process (70%**).
We also provide the same AMS System Training for smokers not psychologically ready to make the sacrifices necessary to complete the process but, require help to learn to control when they smoke, to avoid/eliminate power smoking, to comfortably cope with workplace smoking restrictions (bans) without the need for extra*** outside smoke-breaks.
The bi-product of what we do avoids/eliminates the productivity loss, increased absenteeism & prescription drug use caused by workplace smoking restrictions/bans.
The AMS System Training reduces smoking-related health and medical costs.
The AMS System Training eliminates negative and costly behavior changes among smokers not willing to participate in conventional QUIT or FAIL cessation programs.
